Amigos ,                                                  Careless  whisper  -  23/02/12  -  Year of the Dragon - reminds one of Mr Bruce Lee ?

Please bear with me for a couple of minutes while i walk you thru on what i have to say or do and maybe along the way i might be able to hustle you for a couple of bucks and also to share with you the teachings of Christ the Redeemer .

We are a very small and low budget company that tries to deal in a few kinds of aquarium and terrarium related products like aquarium backgrounds , driftwood art , mosses , Nano tanks and especially large pieces of South East Asian driftwoods .

 * Driftwoods *

They come in all shapes and sizes with beautiful textures and the odd snail or two , commonly used for complimenting and enhancing the layout for aquascaping and creating a natural envoirnment for the ever popular aquariums , terrariums , vivariums and palaudiums !

Landscaping with driftwoods for gardens and display platforms for mosses and orchids.Great authentic look which reminds one of a certain place and time of a distance past. A look of being wild and free , after all there's a bit of Jeremiah Johnson in each and everyone of us !

Driftwoods are different things to different people , some looked at it as a piece of rotton wood , while to others it is a piece of Art . If looking at it with an Artist's eye , one can truely appreciate the form and beauty and can then be mesmerised by it.

Woods that have been exposed to the elements , washed by the ebb and flow of the tides , shaped by wind and rain , buried in mud and water and bleached by the Tropical sun and eventually transforming it into a work of Art.

Most are abstract in shape and size with cracks and knots , knarled and twisted , some even resembled Homo-sapiens ( the destroyer of Planet Earth) and animals. An object of beauty that once encountered will caused one to stare in awe and resisting the temptation to touch and briefly caress it. ( Blame it all on Adam , temptation , the causes of all the miseries on earth !!! ). 

But above everything else , the greatest artist of all time is still and ever shall be the one and only " Mother Nature".

* Aquarium Backgrounds *

A brief history..........Then........of boyish daydreams and wanderlust carefree days catching fishes in the nearby rivers...............

Since the early days when a small boy started keeping a single fish in a simple jam jar tied to a bamboo stick , the art of fishkeeping have evovled dramatically to a really spectacular display with exotic fishes and aquatic plants to replicate their natural habitat.

Aquarium backgrounds have played a major role in contributing towards obtaining this ultimate and optimum living conditions.  Aquarists ( immortals ) and layman ( like most of us mortals ) alike have a headstart and a level playing field to create a beautiful and eye-catching aquascape from the word " Go ! ".

Most people are put off by the sheer volume of infos of do's and dont's of fishkeeping that they are overwhelmed and confused and going around like right hand right leg left hand left leg Zombies of the past.( Present day 28 weeks Zombies's right hand left leg right leg left hand moves like the lightning speed of Speedy Gonzalez!! ). Fishkeeping is not exactly  Rocket Science or Quantum Physics but with perseverance , a little imagination and with a little bit of luck i believe one can achieve an easy and stress free past time.It is not as complex as one thinks but getting the basic fundamentals right will go a long way to a problem free aquarium.Don't be greedy and over stretched yourself , Big Boys' toys do not comes cheap !. Start small and simple and gradually you will find your niche to advance to the next level. What better thing to do than to come home after a hard day's work to escape from the Rat race and this dog eat dog society than to de-stress and reminisce in front of the Aquarium.

*Driftwood Art* - Our Junk

There are countless of products on the internet like mirrors , frames , candle holders , furnitures etc... which are made of driftwoods and recycled woods that are on display for sale. Good for the Green Movement i hope. Well , we for one will go with the flow as one of the statistics ( a nice way of saying A licence To Copy )  and also try to offer a couple of our own products in the coming months . Driftwoods and recycled woods are a great source of material to turn something into a work of Art , anyone who can hold a saw or a hammer and with some imagination can easily make something out of it !. All of our products ( junk ) are 100% limited edition and one-off meaning there is only 1 single pc in the Whole Wide World ! Who knows , one day it might be a Picasso or a collector's item !. One thing we can guarantee , if u find one which is exactly the same and at a lower price , we will refund to u the 100% plus 3 times the initial amount that u paid out !! In this day and age , it is really surprising that there are these type of people who are still doing this kind of business. * Nano Aquariums *

Mankind have always been fascinated by things from the really hugh to the very miniature. A few good example is the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio De Janeiro and the cute and little Japanese Origami . In the world of fishkeeping , the mini version of the tank is of course the 'Nano Aquarium' . The population explosion have resulted into an increasingly claustophobic World where All creatures  big and small  jostled for limited space and resources. For those who always wanted a tank but do not have the time and space , i think the answer lies in the Nano Aquarium .It takes up very little space and only need very simple maintenance . The picture above is an example of my personal  1 Litre Nano tank which i keep on my book shelf under a Ikea desk lamp running on a Philip 23w Spiral Daylight bulb . We can do different kinds of Nano tanks to suite yr mood , just email us on yr requirements .

 *Terrariums*

An enclosed place or container that imitates a biotope or a piece of Nature .There are many variations of Terrariums which cater for various plants and animals.One of the earliest example is of course the Wardian Case.For setting up a aesthetically lookingTerrarium , it must be as true and as close to imitating nature as possible . One must keep in mind that Nature is random , most times a haphazard arrangement will look more realistic and natural rather than a artificially arranged rocks or plants . Props like rocks , mosses , plants or even animals must be in proportion to the enclosed space for it to be pleasing to the eyes . Having a close link with Nature is a very good base to draw your inspirations from and using a little of our commonsense will contribute greatly too .

But..............market demands ( money talks ), can have a very shocking effect on the final outlook , a good example is , yes 'Yours Truly' , If one has to make a living on selling a single setup a year of an Artistically and aesthetically looking Terrarium or a setup with 'Plastic figurine of Spiderman clinging to a tree' and selling 200 setups a month and at three times the price even though if you amplified all the components by 100 times the 'Plastic figurine of Spiderman clinging to a tree' would have to be 200ft tall in relation to the 2ft plant!!!, Without even a single moment of hesitation, it's  Aesthetic , Art ,  Nature lover , Art of War , Book of Five Rings ....... right out of the window !!! i will definately grab the 'Plastic figurine of Spiderman clinging to a tree' setup anytime!!! One only have to go back in time , or even now to know that most Artists dies young , hungry and poor.!!! Be a tycoon and live to a ripe old age should be better option , don't you think so ??? one just can't be 'Living on a Prayer???' can you??? i surrender!!! and also i have to apologise for repeating ' Plastic figurine of Spiderman clinging to a tree' kind of makes you a little sick and wants to puke don't it???

On making choices , One lasting impression i had after watching Sir David Attenborough's 'Planet Earth ' is this question on saving the Rainforest . If cutting down a tree or feeding your hungry children , what would you choose ??? Hey! i just learned a new term 'Armchair Envoirnmentalists', Just like what Mr Floyd said " Us and Them " and after all we're only ordinary man". How true..............

 Is our Destiny in the hands of our Beholder ???

What we , the Human Race , dosen't realise is that each and everyone of us and each and every living things is but a piece of jigsaw puzzle in this place we called 'Earth'. The oldest and biggest Terrarium in the whole Universe !!! , it is but only a handful in the hands of our beholders . If you don't believe me , just ask Mr Erich Von Daniken. Food for thoughts , don't you think??? Don't kidded yourself , Since thousand of years ago and even now ,we are still being watched!! If you Dare to believe,the Truth is out There ', Are we being gripped by a higher intelligence ? just give it some time to sink in and pray because just like us who throw and destroy things that we don't need anymore , will happen to us too!!!!! One final request , do not quote me if you are doing a Thesis on this subject for your MBA or PHD ! I don't mean to shock you but do You still want a Terrarium??? Look out for our Moss Terrarium.........  don't think too much , just buy !
